Possible sighting of stabbing suspect on James Smith Cree Nation
RCMP investigators have received reports of a possible sighting of suspect Myles Sanderson in James Smith Cree Nation.
An emergency alert was issued around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Sanderson is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of break and enter. A total of 11 people, including his brother Damien have died; 18 others were injured in the stabbings that occurred Sunday on the First Nation and in the community of Weldon, Sask. Police believe Myles Sanderson may have also been injured and may seek medical attention.
Police advise residents in the area to seek immediate shelter and not leave a secure location. Sanderson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
