Aug 27, 2022 | 9:00 AM

A 21-year-old and 17-year-old are in custody, following a break-and enter arrest in North Battleford that lead to an arrest and weapons seizure.

The instigating break-in was reported on the 600 block of 103rd St. Tuesday afternoon. Through investigation, police located stolen property at a residence further along on the 600 block on 102nd St. and also recovered a sawed off shotgun.

“Information attained from witnesses in the area led to a specific residence,” Sgt. Neil Tremblay said.

A 21-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were arrested and taken into custody. Both are facing charges with include Possession of Stolen Property and weapons offences. The matter is still under investigation, with a court date not yet set.

Last week, police arrested a male teenager after finding him in possession of stolen property. Officers recovered a vehicle the evening of Aug. 19 on the 1300 block of 103rd St., which had been reported stolen earlier in the day. The 17-year-old driver attempted to flee from members on foot when stopped but was quickly taken into custody.

“We don’t know who stole it, but it was stolen earlier that day and he was found in possession of it,” Tremblay said.

The youth faces two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of resisting arrest. His next appearance in court is Sept. 8.

Break and enter files
