RCMP Report: Firearm arrests, vehicle thefts
Battlefords RCMP made two firearms arrests to end July.
The first stemmed from a call reporting a suspicious male, who appeared to be trying to get into vehicles in an alley off of 100th St. on July 28. Officers located the 34-year-old male suspect and found a concealed weapon. He attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.
The accused appears in court on Oct. 3 for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting arrest.
In a second incident, police received a call of a man with a firearm near Moosomin First Nation on July 30. They located him and a .22 calibre handgun.
