The CPCA standings continued to shuffle after the past weekend of chuckwagon racing in Little Pine First Nation.

Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg is the new standings leader after another steady showing in Little Pine. The veteran driver, fresh off his aggregate victory at the North American Chuckwagon Championship, won day money on Friday and finished second overall for the three days. This, combined with Meadow Lake’s Logan Gorst finishing fourth over the weekend bumps Laboucane to 681.5 points, 10.5 ahead of Gorst.

Brad McMann of Chauvin, Alta., was the aggregate winner, largely thanks to a weekend best 1:17.97 on Sunday. He was the only driver to finish with a combined time under four minutes, earning his first show victory. After missing the first CPCA event in Yorkton and having several low finishes, the win knocks McMann up to 15th overall.

Laboucane and Gorst have now gained some ground on the rest of the competition, with 2019 champion Todd Baptiste back at 637 standings points for third. Further back are Luke Tournier, Preston Faithful and Danny Ringuette.
