The best in U13 softball from the Battlefords will team up for provincials this weekend in Regina.

It is the final weekend of provincials for the Battlefords Bandits softball program. The U13 provincial team is made up of top players from each of the three local house teams in the age group that competed against one another this season.

Assistant coach with the U13s, Darren Russell said if the first couple of warm-up games together is any indication, the team appears to be meshing quickly ahead of the weekend.

“We’ve had a few exhibition games and the team’s looking pretty good,” Russell said. “We’ve got a few strong pitchers on the team and can hit the ball pretty well. Ryan Shephard is the head coach of the team and he’s doing a good job, and the team should be strong.”
