Highway construction likely to cause delays for weekend travel
Canada Day travel is going to require some planning from Saskatchewan residents
The province is reminding motorists to be proactive when scheduling their long weekend trips to lakes, rivers and parks. Several construction projects on Saskatchewan highways are expected to cause delays.
Battlefords MLA and Highways Minister Jeremy Cockrill said in a release that these projects will provide a safer and more efficient road network, but come with short-term inconveniences during construction season. Motorists will have to watch for signs indicating work zones and slow down to 60 km/h, with some that require slowing down even when workers are not present.
“When travelling, you should always leave yourself some extra time and check the Highway Hotline when planning your route,” Cockrill said.
