North Battleford man charged with killing mother

A 45-year-old man from North Battleford is facing a charge of second degree murder in connection to an incident that happened in the city earlier this week.

Walter Geering is scheduled to appear this morning at Provincial Court.

Late Wednesday morning, RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence on 93rd St.

Officers and EMS responded and located a woman, whom EMS declared deceased. She has now been identified as 72-year-old Beatrice Geering from North Battleford.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit continues to investigate. They have confirmed the victim is the mother of the accused.
