Battlefords RCMP investigating armed robbery

Jun 15, 2022 | 3:09 PM

Following an armed robbery in North Battleford, police are asking for help in identifying three female suspects.

Around 2:30 Wednesday morning, three women entered 7-11 on 100th Street. One of the suspects produced a shotgun, assaulted an employee and attempted to gain access to the till, which was ultimately unsuccessful.

“I believe one of the employees was struck with the stock of the shotgun, resulting in minor injuries,” Sgt. Neil Tremblay said. “They then fled on foot with a small amount of merchandise.”

Two of the suspects covered their faces, while one did not. Tremblay said it doesn’t look like anything that the detachment to connect to another incident at this time.

“We haven’t had anything in terms of armed robberies at businesses in some time,” he said.
