Teen missing, local highway closed

Update: Highway 4 south of Battleford has reopened for traffic.

Battlefords RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Ryder Checkosis.

He was reported missing last Thursday and was last seen on the 900 block of 109th Street in North Battleford.

Checkosis is described as being about 5-6, 150 lb, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He has ties to North Battleford, as well as Poundmaker First Nation and Saskatoon.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call the Battlefords RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

Serious accident

Battlefords RCMP are also currently investigating a serious single vehicle motor collision on Highway 4.

The incident occurred approximately 10-12 kilometers south of Battleford this morning.

Highway 4 is currently closed in both directions and traffic is being rerouted. Motorists can expect delays traveling in either direction.
