Battlefords RCMP have handed out charges related to the arrests and drug seizure that took place in Battleford on Friday.

Five people were arrested and taken into custody, prior to a search warrant being carried out at the residence on 33rd St. As of Monday, four individuals, all from the area, were remanded on numerous charges and appeared in court.

Twenty-five year-old Renelle Bugler, 37 year-old Christopher Ludviksen and 22 year-old Sebastian Sanderson all face the following charges of possession of methamphetamine for purpose of trafficking, four counts of unsafe storage of firearms, four counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Sanderson and Ludvikson also face two counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime. Bugler and Ludvikson are also charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm without a license. Additionally, Ludvikson faces five counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a surrender authorization.

Lastly, a 16 year-old youth was charged and remanded on possession of stolen property and obstruction.

In addition to methamphetamine, police seized cocaine, four firearms and a significant amount of cash on Friday.

Gun seizure

The RCMP are investigating an incident from Sunday evening, which resulted in charges for three people and the seizure of multiple firearms.

A suspected discharge of a firearm was reported regarding a vehicle on 12th Ave, which was located by police a short time later at a residence on Moosomin First Nation. Four suspects were arrested at the time and police located and seized two firearms and some ammunition. Three of the accused made their first appearances in court on Tuesday.

“The people involved have ties to gang activity, but this incident itself doesn’t appear to have been,” Sgt. Neil Tremblay said.

Twenty-three year-old’s Titus Wright and Dawson Moccasin are charged with numerous weapons offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unsafe storage. Among his 10 charges, Wright also faces one count of possession of a weapon contrary to a surrender authorization. A 16 year old youth is also facing seven weapons charges.

Tremblay said the detachment was happy to get those weapons off the street and are continuing to investigate the incident.

In one other gun related incident, police are looking into a report of a suspicious man with a firearm from Monday. Reportedly, the suspect was seen on a bike riding down the 1300 block of 107th St, carrying a firearm and yelling at an unknown person. He was wearing all black materials and was last seen walking northbound, after having discarded the bike in the area.

Anyone with information on these incidents can call the Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
