North Battleford public works recognized provincially
Public works employees in North Battleford recently received provincial honours in Saskatoon for their workplace performance over the past year.
Three City employees were recognized during the 63rd Saskatchewan Public Works Association (SPWA) Spring Conference. The event is a gathering of more than 800 communities, rural Municipalities and First Nations, along with government and municipal decision-makers involved in all aspects of public works. Municipal engineers, consultants, suppliers and contractors were also invited to attend.
For the City of North Battleford, Fleet & Maintenance Manager Seton Winterhalt was given the award of merit, while Water & Sewer Operations Supervisor Joe Gagne was named professional manager of the year. Recently retired Roadway Supervisor Colin Carriere also received a lifetime member award for his 33 years of service in North Battleford.
During Monday’s city council meeting, Mayor David Gillan congratulated the three winners on the recognition. He added that council and adminstration are very proud of their public works employees.
