Feb 27, 2022 | 9:14 PM

Dylan Esau scored his first career hat trick in a four-point outing, and Lowen Kenyon stopped all 30 shots he faced on the night, as the Battlefords North Stars blanked the Millionaires 4-0 in Melville Sunday.

Esau’s hat trick served as the first of his of his SJHL career, while Kenyon’s shutout was the second of his, coming just four games after his first, earlier this month in Kindersley.

Esau opened the scoring on a wrister through traffic just passed the midway mark of the first, for his 17th of the season, before capping his natural hatty in the second with back-to-back goals to bump his total to 19, and make it 3-0 Battlefords at the end of 40 minutes.

With another three goals and an assist Sunday, Stars forward Dylan Esau has now scored six goals, 12 points in his last five games. (Martin Martinson/battlefordsNOW Staff)

Steven Kesslering’s team-leading 21st capped the night’s scoring at 4-0 Stars, just 44 seconds into the third, set up by Esau for a quick release in front.

With the victory the North Stars improve to 31-15-6 on the year, and with 68 points, leapfrog both Melfort and Flin Flon into third overall in the league standings.
