RCMP Report: Two suspects in stabbing incident
Battlefords RCMP are searching for two suspects, following a stabbing incident in North Battleford.
The report came on Feb. 4, from a residence on the 1500 block of 103rd St. A male victim was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries that evening. While the two suspects have been identified, the detachment is continuing to investigate before deciding to apply charges.
Of the 23 assault investigations from Feb. 2-8, Battlefords RCMP had multiple cases where arrests were made. On Feb. 8, 40 year-old Leon Jimmy was arrested and charged with multiple assault-related charges, as well as resisting arrest, uttering threats and mischief. The accused reportedly threw a chair at another man on the 900 block of 102nd St. and threatened several persons present during the incident before fleeing. When located, he became violent during his arrest and was subdued and taken into custody after the deployment of a taser. Jimmy appeared in court on Feb. 9.
Other arrests include a 14 year-old youth charged found with a machete on Feb. 6, a 20 year-old woman found with machete that also attempted to flee arrest and provided a false name on Feb. 3 and a woman reportedly experiencing mental health issues on Feb. 8 who chased after a family member with a large knife. The latter incident remains under investigation.
