Stars battle Ice Wolves down to wire in 4-2 defeat
It was a hard-fought game between a pair of surging teams Saturday night in North Battleford, as the North Stars saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, in a 4-2 loss to La Ronge.
Stars forward, Zane Florence scored his 13th of the year – and third in his last three games – to open the scoring just minutes into the contest. Depositing a Ty Bahm rebound in-front to make it 1-0 early, the goal came off strong pressure from the fourth line.
Stars’ forward, Ty Bahm set up the Stars opening goal by Florence, and was all around the ice all night, as a force on the forecheck. (Martin Martinson/battlefordsNOW Staff)Gavin Mattey pulled La Ronge even with his team-leading 23rd of the year just over five minutes later, scoring by bunting his own rebound out of the air on a tremendous show of hand-eye coordination to make it 1-1.
