McMorris advances to Winter Olympics slopestyle final
Regina snowboarder Mark McMorris will have a chance to add to his Winter Olympic slopestyle medal haul.
The 28-year-old finished second in qualifying Sunday at the Beijing Games, posting a score of 83.30 points on his second of two runs. He trailed only Yiming Su of China, who put up a score of 86.80.
McMorris won the bronze medal in slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi and the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.
The top 12 scores after the first two runs of qualifying advanced to Sunday night’s final. It’s slated to begin at 10 p.m., Regina time.
