Provincial campsite bookings begin on April 18

Saskatchewan’s provincial parks will begin accepting reservations for the 2022 camping season on April 18.

Seasonal campsites can be booked on April 18 while nightly, Camp-Easy and group campsite bookings begin April 19 and run to April 26.

“This time of year is always exciting, as many residents across the province begin to plan their summer holidays,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross said in a government news release.

“After a record-breaking year in 2021 with more than one million visits to provincial parks, we are looking forward to kicking off another great camping season.”

• April 19: Saskatchewan Landing, Good Spirit Lake, Candle Lake, Meadow Lake
• April 21: Echo Valley, Douglas, Pike Lake, Narrow Hills, Makwa Lake
• April 22: Rowan’s Ravine, Danielson, Greenwater Lake, Great Blue Heron, The Battlefords
• April 25: Moose Mountain, Buffalo Pound, Duck Mountain, Bronson Forest
• April 26: Crooked Lake, Cypress Hills, Blackstrap, Lac La Ronge

Reservations begin at 7 a.m. each day.

Updates to online booking

The new online reservation system features plenty of new updates.

Campsite comparison allows campers to compare up to three sites online to help decide which site best suits their needs.

Campsite favourites allows campers to create a list of favourite sites that will be saved in their online account.

Waitlists for campsites are also available. If that person’s turn comes up, they will have 24 hours to reserve that site.

There are more park interpretive programs, events and movie nights available for visitors to reserve their spots.

New in Sask Parks in 2022 are the 36 seasonal sites that have been added to the park system due to the popularity of seasonal camping.

Two Camp-Easy tents at both Buffalo Pound and Blackstrap provincial parks will be replaced with yurts. Greenwater will have its first Camp-Easy yurt and Duck Mountain will receive a second yurt.

Nightly fees for Camp-Easy sites will increase to $80, and historic parks will no longer charge individual admission; daily, weekly or annual permits are the only options.

All other camping fees remain the same from 2021.
