North Battleford lawmakers approved a new collective agreement and annual salary increases with the Community Safety Officers (CSO) Association at this week’s council meeting.

According to the three-year agreement, the CSOs will receive a 1.8 per cent increase in 2022, a two per cent increase in 2023, and a 2.1 per cent increase in 2024.

“We are very pleased to present to council for approval a new CSO contract negotiation with the union,” director of Corporate Services Jennifer Niesink said. “So, after two days of negotiations, the bargaining committee and the CSO group came to a deal of a three-year contract.”

City council gave the go ahead for both the city clerk and the mayor to sign the contract, to renew and approve the three-year incremental increases proposed for the CSOs from 2022 to 2024.
