Update: The road has been cleared. Two people were found deceased in the collision, while three had non-life-threatening injuries.
Maidstone RCMP are warning motorists of a serious collision on Highway 16, which is causing traffic to be rerouted.
The detachment noted the incident took place roughly two kilometres west of Maidstone late Monday afternoon. According to one social media account, a 2 1/2 ton semi allegedly rear-ended a snowplow.
As a result, the westbound lanes are shutdown for investigation of the scene.
