RCMP Report Pt. 2: Series of Battlefords break-ins
During the past two weeks, the Battlefords RCMP had 905 calls for service, including another series of break-ins that may be connected.
Several of the 13 break and enters included vehicles taken during the break in. On Highway 4 south of Battleford, a break and enter was reported shortly after midnight on Dec. 28, where three suspects used a 1990s style grey pick-up to ram the store and fled the scene after stealing merchandise. Sgt. Neil Tremblay said the incident remains under investigation.
“The vehicle was later recovered on the northern part of the city and we believe the same individuals committed a break and enter at a business in the north end, that’s where they stole a couple vehicles and a trailer,” he said.
This occurred at a storage building at a business location on Highway 4 North at the edge of North Battleford. Among the stolen items was a blue 2003 Trailblazer, a blue 1997 Dodge Ram and a Sure-Trac Trailer with Saskatchewan licenses of 526-LYA, 841-KTZ and 606-LGW. The previously stolen vehicle found nearby matched the description of the suspected truck involved in the Highway 4 South break-in.
