Loon Lake RCMP looking for wanted man after arrest warrant issued

An arrest warrant has been issued for Cherokee Cantre and Loon Lake RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance.

On Aug. 25, Cantre was charged with one count of failure to comply with probation order.

On Nov. 4, an investigation determined that Cantre was in a vehicle on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. Officers attempted to approach Cantre, but he fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed in close proximity to an elementary school.

He was charged with one count of flight from peace officer, one count of dangerous operation of a conveyance, and one count of operation while prohibited.

On Nov. 5, investigation determined that Cantre was again in a vehicle in Loon Lake. Officers approached the vehicle to arrest Cantre, but he again fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

He is facing further charges of one count of resisting arrest, one count of dangerous operation of a conveyance, and one count of operation while prohibited.

Following these two incidents, warrants have now been issued for all of these charges. Loon Lake RCMP officers are actively trying to locate Cantre and they urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to report it to police.

Cantre is 25 years old and is approximately 5-11 and 200 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
