Air seeder jammed under overpass delays Lloydminster traffic
Traffic was delayed today in Lloydminster, as a result of an unusual obstacle on the east side of the Border City.
The City of Lloydminster shared with battlefordsNOW that an air seeder being transported east became wedged under the CP Railway overpass on Highway 16, requiring crews on the scene for several hours. The call came in at approximately 10:07 a.m. and CP Rail was notified. The seeder was larger than the width available from the overpass, which are traditionally shorter on the right lane.
By noon, eastbound traffic was diverted to the other lane as responders worked to get the seeder unstuck, making it a single lane for entrance and exit. Members from the Lloydminster Fire Department, as well as towing and other services were on site. The road was officially reopened by 1:46 p.m. and crews had completely cleared after 2 p.m.
