Stars power play leads the way in 4-1 route of Nipawin
Dominance on special teams wrote the story for the Battlefords North Stars Saturday, as the team extended their winning streak to four games, with a 4-1 victory over the Nipawin Hawks in North Battleford.
The power play was nothing short of lethal for the Stars, as all four of the team’s goals came on the man-advantage – which went 4-for-4 on the night – and the penalty kill remained perfect as well, successfully killing off all three Nipawin power play tries.
McNinch’s ninth of the season opened the scoring for the Battlefords on a tip play in front on the power play. (Martin Martinson/battlefordsNOW Staff)Tynan Ewart led the way for the Battlefords offensively, with a goal and an assist on the night, while captain Ryland McNinch, K.T. Walters and Jordan Grill also notched a power play marker apiece and Keiton Klein added two assists.
