RCMP Report Part 2: Missing persons, firearms incidents

Battlefords RCMP have two open missing persons investigations.

Police are looking for 24 year-old Tracy Wright, who was reported missing Sept. 27. Last seen on the Moosomin First Nation in early September, Wright is approximately 5’4”, 135 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair. She’s known to frequent the North Battleford and Edmonton areas.

Also reported missing is 28 year-old Hossam Al-Kinani, who was last seen on the evening of Sept. 25. Sgt. Tremblay said they believe that he is in southern Manitoba and will be located soon.

“We’re pretty sure someone has made contact with him to know he is OK,” Tremblay said.

Kinani is believed to be driving a black 2007 BMW with a Saskatchewan license plate of 153-LZR. He’s approximately 5’11”, athletic/muscular build, with brown eyes and very short black hair or a shaven head. He also has a Biohazard symbol tattoo on the right side of his neck.

More stolen vehicles

There were 19 vehicle thefts reported during the past two weeks. These include:

  • A White 2011 Cadillac SRX (Saskatchewan license 883MEL stolen from a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation Sept. 23.
  • A grey 2005 Ford Escape (Saskatchewan license 843-LGE) stolen from 1300 block of 103rd Street some time between Sept. 18-19.
  • A brown 2006 Ford F-150 (Saskatchewan license 311-LWB) stolen in the late afternoon of September 23 from the 900 block of 109th Street.
  • A grey 2020 Ford Explorer (Saskatchewan license 312-LUF) stolen from the 1800 block of 93rd Street some time between Sept. 18-19.
  • A black 2002 Ford pick up (Saskatchewan license 790-LUX) reported stolen from a business in Cochin on Sept. 20.
  • A brown 2006 Ford F150 (Saskatchewan license 311-LWB) reported stolen from 1800 block of 92nd Street on Sept. 26.

Gun fire incidents

Police are investigating three other cases reported to involve firearms.

On the evening of Sept. 15, there was a report of gun shots on Panton Avenue. The residence in question was found unsecured by responding members and no one was located inside. A vehicle parked in the area was located with several bullet holes.

There were also a report of gun shots at a residence on the Mosquito First Nation, where suspects in a small black or blue car allegedly fired numerous rounds at a house Sept. 20. Witnesses on scene were not cooperative with investigation and no damage located on the property consistent with firearms.

Finally, a gun shot was purportedly heard on the 900 block area of 110th Street on Sept. 28. A stolen vehicle was located and recovered in the area a shot time later by police and found with a bullet hole in the back window.

Other numbers

Among the 1,001 calls for service, there were 23 Mental Health Act investigations, 22 traffic collisions, nine persons charged with impaired driving offences and 97 various traffic charges.
