Youth missing, gunshots incident under investigation

UPDATE: Battlefords RCMP located Devante Atkinson.

Battlefords RCMP are investigating a report of a missing youth in the area.

Thirteen year-old Devante Atkinson was last seen shortly before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday evening on 108^th Street in North Battleford. He was reportedly wearing shorts and a blue sweater with a black Oilers hat.

The detachment is urging anyone with information related to report to call (306)446-1720 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TiPS(8477).

Battlefords RCMP are also investigating a shooting incident that took place Wednesday morning in North Battleford.

Police received a call before noon regarding a disturbance on Panton Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, they learned gunshots had been fired inside of the residence. A 20-year-old male was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and was released, while unknown suspects fled the scene.

At this time, the victim and witnesses inside the residence are reportedly not cooperative with the investigation. A white GMC Envoy SUV with an Alberta licence plate may be involved in the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information in regards with this situation to call the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
