Man dies in Lloydminster Hospital following assault, investigation ongoing

Alberta RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) have taken charge of the investigation into an assault that resulted in the death of an adult male in Lloydminster.
During the early morning hours of August 14, Lloydminster RCMP responded to an assault at a park near 44th Street and 42nd Avenue. The Border City’s Fire Deparment and AHS ground ambulance also attended and located the male victim from Paynton, Sask.
The male was then transported to the local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to them and died in hospital the next day.
A Forensic Identification Unit was also engaged along with the MCU and is assisting in the investigation. Updates will be provided when available.
