Senior baseball AA Tier II provincials will be held in North Battleford this weekend, Aug. 6–8.

Featuring seven teams from across the region, including the North Battleford Beavers, Wilkie Brewers, Kindersley Stallions, Lloyd Twins, Standard Hill Lakers, and Parkland Piarates, the event will be held primarily at Beaver Lions Stadium with games also taking place at Diamond #4 nearby.

North Battleford’s team will be made up of a mix of players from both the North Battleford Beavers and Battlefords Trappers’ rosters.

The local club will kick off their tournament Friday versus Standard Hill at 2 p.m., before again suiting up in the evening to face Parkland at 8 p.m.

Player-coach with the Beavers, Kyle Gregoire said the local team is excited to be hosting the provincial tournament this year at home, adding that they’re looking forward to a good turnout from the community’s fans and supporters.

“We’re really looking forward to being able to showcase some local baseball here in the Battlefords, combining our local Beavers and Trappers teams and hopefully we can put on a good show for the home crowd,” Gregoire said. “We finished runner-up last provincials, so hopefully we can get over that hump and get the championship this year.”

Teams will be ranked following their opening two games at which time the playoff rounds will begin mid-day Saturday and throughout the day Sunday.

A full tournament schedule with times and playoff breakdown is available here.

Admission to senior provincials is free to attend. Beer gardens and canteen will be available throughout the weekend, Friday to Sunday.
