Drugs, weapons seized during North Battleford arrest
Battlefords RCMP have arrested and charged three people with multiple offences after they located firearms in a stolen vehicle.
The North Battleford Gang Task Force found the vehicle on the 900 block of 109th Street Thursday afternoon. Following the occupants arrest, a subsequent search resulted in the seizure of two illegally modified firearms, ammunition, cocaine and methamphetamine.
Twenty-four-year-old Kane Nicotine of North Battleford, 21-year-old Talia Bear of Sweet Grass First Nation and a youth from North Battleford were all charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and multiple firearms offences. Nicotine and Bear were both charged with breach of release order and Nicotine was also charged with failure to comply with probation. The youth, whose name is not being released due to their age, received additional charges for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
All three are scheduled to appear in court on August 3.
