Search underway for man traveling to Grande Prairie from North Battleford

Battlefords RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating 29-year-old Matthaeus Kohls.

The Grande Prairie resident was reported missing late afternoon on July 12 and last seen on the 900 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford. Kohls is overdue to return to his residence in Grande Prairie and was believed to be planning to travel by bus, connecting in Edmonton.

He’s about 5’10”, medium build and was last seen carrying a small blue suitcase and wearing a long sleeve shirt with grey, blue, red and green colours, as well as blue jeans and brown hiking boots.

Sgt. Neil Tremblay said the detachment believes it’s possible that he may still be in the city.

“We have nobody who can tell us that he got on a bus at any time,” Tremblay said. “We’re still trying to confirm whether any tickets were purchased there, so we’re just going by the last time he was seen, which was just downtown here.”

Anyone who has information on Kohls whereabouts can call the Battlefords RCMP detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
