Big River male wanted for numerous offences

UPDATE: The RCMP have reported as of June 10 Utin Whitefish has been found and arrested without incident. He will appear in court in Prince Albert on June 11.

Big River RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating an adult male wanted in relation to multiple incidents that occurred in the area since July 2020.

Utin Whitefish, 27, is charged with numerous offences as a result of several investigations in the past two decades. There are multiple warrants issued for his arrest, but police have been unable to locate and arrest him so far.

Whitefish’s charges include violent offences such as assault, assault with a weapon and robbery with an offensive weapon. There are additional weapons offences including possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a firearm while prohibited and pointing a firearm. Other charges he faces include theft under $5,000, failure to attend court and uttering threats.

Whitefish is described as approximately 5-8, 220 lb, with black hair and brown eyes. He also has facial tattoos. He may be on Big River First Nation, but that has not been confirmed.

Police said anyone who sights Whitefish must not approach him and instead call law enforcement immediately. In addition to the Big River RCMP detachment, residents can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers.
