Drive-thru vaccine clinic availability on June 12

Jun 7, 2021 | 11:49 AM

There’s no drive-thru Immunization availability in Northwest Saskatchewan until Saturday once again.

Both the Battlefords and Lloydminster clinics will only be open on June 12. The Lloydminster location, at the Exhibition grounds, will run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., while the Battlefords location, off of Highway 16 northwest of Battleford, will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Both sites are administering the Pfizer vaccine.

As has been the case throughout the vaccination process, the drive-thru clinics will operate on a first come, first served basis until closing time or supplies run out. Pharmacies and walk-ins continue to take appointments and are asking those who choose to attend a drive-thru to cancel their time-slot if doing so.

As of June 6, there have been almost 810,000 COVID-19 vaccines administered in Saskatchewan. 67 per cent of those 18 and older have received their first dose, while 65 per cent of those 12 and older have also received their first dose. 75 per cent of seniors 80 and older are fully vaccinated, while the eligible age for a second dose drops to 60 on Tuesday.
