Battlefords RCMP searching for missing teens

May 28, 2021 | 1:08 PM

Battlefords RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating four missing youths from North Battleford.

Thirteen-year-olds Skyler Tinker, Aliya Natomagan and Dawson Nokohoot and 15 year-old Monty Littlewolfe were reported missing Thursday evening. They were last seen the evening of May 25 in the industrial area off Highway 16 East and it is unclear whether they are still together or have separated.

Sgt. Neil Tremblay said the youth’s all come from the same home. At this time, they believe the four ran away.

“We’ve had numerous incidents, particularly three of them, over the past few months,” Tremblay said.

According to Tremblay, the four teenagers are usually fairly visible, frequenting multiple businesses and areas in the city.

“Most of the time they’ve come back within 12-24 hours, but this time we haven’t been able to find them for a little longer than usual,” he said.

Anyone with information as to their whereabouts can call Battlefords RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Car thefts in the Battlefords decreasing slightly

Between May 19 and 25, Battlefords RCMP responded to 445 calls for service. This included 15 missing persons reports, 14 assaults and six B&E’s, such as a business break-in on the 1200 block of 101st Street on May 19. All 15 missing individuals were found. Tremblay said the numbers are close to normal.

“That’s a fairly common week, in terms of the number of files,” he said

Four vehicles were stolen and there were seven impaired driving charges. Two of the stolen vehicles included a White 2015 Chevrolet Cruze with a license plate of 720-JPA that was reported stolen from the 1000 block of 107th Street on May 19, along with a Red Honda Cruiser Motorcycle with a license plate of 205-MZ that was reported stolen from the 800 block of 108th Street shortly after midnight on May 23. Tremblay said vehicle thefts are slightly down in the area in recent weeks, which is a good sign, though he said weather is likely a factor.

“People aren’t leaving their vehicles running anymore, so we’re not getting those types of vehicles thefts anymore,” he said.

RCMP have instead seen a slight uptick in nuisance calls. Tremblay said they plan to continue release this type of weekly report moving forward, to let people keep an eye on developments in the area.
