Town installing barricade to prevent drivers from taking short cut over private field
The Town of Battleford plans to install a permanent barricade at the edge of a field at one end of 5th Avenue West to prevent traffic from the Riverbend Crescent residential area and 5th Avenue West from taking a short cut across a privately owned field to access 35th Street West.
“Vehicles continue to get stuck and cause damage to this field,” public works manager Eric Bilanski said in his report at council’s recent meeting.
In August 2020, the town placed concrete parking blocks across the approach at 35th Street W.
But Bilanski said because there are no natural boundaries at the location, motorists continue to drive around them.
