Advisory issued

Lanz Point Hamlet in RM of Meota under precautionary drinking water advisory

May 4, 2021 | 4:12 PM

UPDATE: The precautionary drinking water advisory has since been lifted as of May 7.

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Meota is issuing a precautionary drinking water advisory to residents and water users located in the Hamlet of Lanz Point.

The advisory was issued due to depressurization caused by water reservoir cleaning.

As a result, the RM stated the safety of the hamlet’s drinking water supply in the affected area cannot be ensured at all times currently.

A boil water advisory is in effect for drinking water for Lanz Point. (Google Maps)

People are asked to boil all water used for drinking purposes for at least one minute prior to use.

Boiled water should also be used for washing fruits and vegetables, brushing teeth, making ice cubes, washing dishes, and for use in other activities where it may be ingested.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
