LSSD reports six COVID-19 cases, Macklin school going online

May 3, 2021 | 9:27 AM

The Living Sky Shool Division (LSSD) reported six cases of COVID-19 within the division last week.

Three of the cases were found in individuals at Macklin School. There were two cases found at North Battleford Comprehensive High School, while there was one case at Battleford Central School. Due to privacy concerns no further details of these individuals are being shared.

LSSD is working with Public Health to ensure necessary measures are in place, while all individuals who were in close contact have been notified. Per protocol, the schools received a deep cleaning/sanitization.

As a result of this report, the division and the Regional Health Officer moved Macklin School to Level 4 on April 29, meaning students will be engaging in off-campus learning. Regular curriculum will continue to be taught during this time.
