P.A. Police warn about possible overseas phone scam

Have you received phone calls from unknown overseas numbers?

There’s a very good chance it could be a scam.

People from Prince Albert and all across Saskatchewan have complained about receiving numerous phone calls from Latvia, Guyana, Moldova, Cambodia, and other countries, only to have the unknown caller hang up after one ring or to ask for personal information.

The Prince Albert Police Service put out warnings about this on the weekend, to warn the public about the possible scams. Prince Albert Police say if you receive a call from an unknown international number, hang up immediately or better yet, ignore the call.
