Pelican Lake house fire results in sudden death
A man is dead as a result of a house fire in Pelican Lake First Nation, which police have deemed not suspicious.
Spiritwood RCMP received the call of a house fire just before 5 a.m. on April 18, where officers were advised a man might be inside. They attended and found the residence completely destroyed. Following a search, police found a body of a deceased male inside the remains of the residence.
RCMP Forensics, the Provincial Fire Commissioners Office and the Coroner’s Office investigated the death, determining that there is nothing suspicious at this time about the fire or the unfortunate death of the home owner.
No one else was in the residence at the time and the family of the deceased have been notified.
