Battleford mayor encourages green bin use this spring, summer
As temperatures are warming, April will signal a shift for Battleford residents and their garbage.
The town is going back to weekly garbage pickup next month, coinciding to when outdoor cleanup begins to gain traction. In a recent interview on CJNB, mayor Ames Leslie said residents should seriously consider getting a green bin for storing the results of cleaning the lawn and backyard.
“It will help significantly offset the amount of garbage you’re putting in the black bin,” he said.
Town council recently saw a report that detailed the results of summer months, which Leslie said is good evidence for the use of green bins.
