Smart water metre installation in North Battleford to be delayed
The City of North Battleford is expecting there will be a one-week delay in the start of the new AMI smart water metre installations in North Battleford.
Metre installations will now start the week of March 8 instead of March 1 but there is also a risk it could be further pushed back to the week of March 15.
The city’s environmental manager Jeffrey Blanchard reported at the recent planning committee meeting that the firm KTI Ltd. is having issues with their online booking portal. The company does not want to start releasing information to the public on the program until the portal and network are functioning properly.
The radio frequency base station and antennas that were originally scheduled to be installed at the water tower for the program in January were also delayed due to cross-border shipping issues and complications from the extremely cold weather. The work had to be moved to mid-February instead.
