Case adjourned once again for accused in Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation

One of the accused individuals facing a charge related to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation had his case adjourned in North Battleford Provincial Court on Friday.

Samuel Takakenew, 36, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Takakenew was previously granted bail following a hearing in December.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 28 at 10 a.m. for the matter to be spoken to.

Laverdiere, 25 and from Edmonton, was reported missing on May 12, 2019. She was last seen in North Battleford on May 1, 2019. Laverdiere’s remains were found in a rural area outside North Battleford July 11, 2019, and her identity was confirmed on July 16 of that year.

The allegations against the accused individual have not been proven in court.
