Attempted murder case proceeds to trial

Jan 20, 2021 | 12:00 PM

A not guilty plea was entered in court Wednesday morning, in relation to a violent incident last October in Prince Albert.

Trent Fox, 19, was charged with attempted murder, and possession of a weapon, following the incident on the night of Oct. 14.

Police were called to a business in the area of the 3200 block of second Ave. W. for a report of a stabbing. A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and later transported by STARS Air Ambulance to hospital in Saskatoon.

Upon further investigation, police learned Fox allegedly hitchhiked to Prince Albert from North Battleford earlier that day.

A two day trial has been scheduled to take place at Prince Albert Provincial Court, commencing the morning of May 20. Fox’s attendance was waived for the brief hearing Wednesday.

According to discussion in court, Fox also has a number of outstanding charges from North Battleford which will also be spoken to on the scheduled trial date.
