She-NANIGANS temporarily closed until COVID-19 restrictions start to lift

With the province’s increased COVID-19 precautions now in place, She-NANIGANS performing arts venue in North Battleford has decided to temporarily close until conditions improve.

Co-manager Kelly Waters said the amount of positive cases in Saskatchewan was a concern.

“With the high numbers, restrictions and everything else, it makes sense on several levels,” she said of the reasons to curb operations for the time being.

The theatre has been closed since just before Christmas.

Waters said the increased regulations would require both performers and customers to wear masks.

As well, considering the amount of staff needed to operate and the capacity limitations, she said it did not make financial sense to keep the doors open at this time.

Waters and owner Glennda Ilett are looking forward to re-opening the venue, and start having shows again in the future when the restrictions start to lift.

“We’ll be there with bells on when everything lightens up,” Waters said.
