Jan 11, 2021 | 2:27 PM

One of the individuals facing charges related to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation pleaded guilty to kidnapping in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday.

Charles St. Savard from Edmonton was facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

He pleaded guilty to kidnapping Laverdiere, with intent to cause her to be confined against her will.

The charge of first-degree murder was stayed previously on Oct. 23, 2020.

St. Savard received two years less a day in custody for the kidnapping charge. When factoring in credit for time served, he has 14 months plus 20 days left to serve. He must provide a DNA sample, and is ordered to a lifetime firearms prohibition.

There is a publication ban in effect on the details of the court proceedings.

Laverdiere, 25, was reported missing on May 12, 2019. She was last seen in North Battleford May 1, 2019. Human remains were found in a rural area outside of North Battleford on July 11, 2019 and confirmed to be the Edmonton woman on July 16 of that year.
