Vehicle check results in drugs, loaded firearm seizure

Battlefords RCMP arrested two individuals Tuesday evening, seizing multiple items, including a loaded firearm and cocaine.
Shortly before 7 p.m., an off-duty RCMP officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at a local gas station, then recognized the people in the vehicle as prolific offenders in the community. After officers located the vehicle and checked on the occupants, the pair was arrested without incident, as it was determined they had outstanding warrants.
Further investigation discovered the two were in possession of a large amount of suspected cocaine, a loaded firearm, bear spray and a large sum of cash. The vehicle was seized for further investigation.
Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
