Mirasty scheduled for sentencing after guilty plea to manslaughter
The accused in the Sequin Mooswa homicide investigation is now scheduled for sentencing after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
Keenan Mirasty, 21, of North Battleford, pleaded guilty in North Battleford provincial court Tuesday to unlawfully cause of the death of Sequin Mooswa on March 8, and thereby commit manslaughter.
A charge of second-degree murder in the case was stayed. A preliminary hearing scheduled to start Oct. 27 did not proceed.
According to the court, the defence counsel requested a pre-sentence report be prepared for Mirasty, that will also consider Gladue factors.
