Finalists announced for Battlefords Business Excellence (BBEX) Awards

The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists in the Battlefords Business Excellence Awards.

Chief Operating Officer Linda Machniak said after a difficult year due to COVID-19 restrictions it is important to honour businesses for their efforts.

The show will follow social distancing measures by utilizing four theatre auditoriums. The awards aim to showcase the work of businesses in the community, especially during the pandemic.

“There are some great stories and some really positive community-building stories in there,” Machniak said. “So I’m really looking forward to the evening when we can share those stories.”

The BBEX Goes To The Movies event will be held Nov. 12 at the Capitol Annex Theatres in North Battleford.

The award winners will be announced at the BBEX event.

Local organizations’ tales of success and resilience will be the highlight of this year’s Battlefords Business Excellence Awards event.

“I feel that they are all really strong candidates, and certainly there is a good mix of non profits and businesses — and businesses across several sectors,” Machniak said. “So that is also very encouraging.”

Here are the finalists for the total of seven award categories in Business Resilience, Community Support, Everyday Heroes and the Heather Guthrie Customer Service Star Award.

Tickets for the event are available from the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce office.
