Province records 13 new cases of COVID-19, five more recoveries

There are 13 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the total amount to 1,688 reported cases.

The new cases are in the Far North East (one), Saskatoon (four), Central East (seven) and Regina (one) zones.

Of the total cases, 66 are active, with 19 in communal living settings.

There have been 1,598 recoveries with five more recently added in the latest provincial update.

Two people are receiving inpatient care at the hospital in Saskatoon.

Of the total cases, 257 are travellers, 841 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 507 have no known exposures, and 83 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 69 cases are health care workers (although not all may have sourced their infections at work).

There are

  • 428 cases from the south area (218 south west, 197 south central, 13 south east)
  • 357 cases from the far north area (349 far north west, eight far north east)
  • 282 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 270 cases from the north area (131 north west, 73 north central, 66 north east)
  • 212 cases from the central area (167 central west, 45 central east)
  • 139 cases from the Regina area

There are 281 cases involving people 19 years old and younger. The remainder are adults.

There are 548 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 515 in the 40 to 59 age range, 286 are in the 60 to 79 age range, and 58 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

To date, 24 people have died from COVID-19 related complications.

There have been 155,332 tests for COVID-19 performed in the province. Yesterday alone, there were 1,683 tests performed.

Anyone who requests a test in the province will receive one, regardless of whether or not they display symptoms of the virus.

Drive through testing locations are available in Saskatoon and Regina. Sites are first come, first served and you will be required to wear a mask and provide a valid Saskatchewan Health Card.
