Waste Management Facility fee discount ending next week

Sep 2, 2020 | 12:00 PM

Residents in North Battleford looking to offload flood-damaged goods at a discount only have a few days left to do so.

The City of North Battleford announced Wednesday they will be discontinuing the free entrance and the waiving of tipping fees at the Waste Management Facility, which was offered to those individuals who suffered damage from the heavy rain on July 7 and 8. The change comes after regular hours for the facility resumed earlier this week.

The last day for residents to deliver their flood-damaged goods free of charge is Sept. 8. No vehicles will be permitted entrance after 5:45 p.m. and cash payments will not be accepted.

Thanks to the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program, which the province approved North Battleford for in July, anyone looking to apply can fill out forms available at City Hall and online.
