Local volleyball player commits to Lethbridge College

From soccer, to dance, to basketball, and of course volleyball.

For Battlefords local, Adam Revet athletics are more than just a pastime, they are a way of life.

“That has been my life, as long as I can remember it’s just been sports, sports, sports,” he said with a laugh.

That is why it should come as no surprise to those who know Revet, that the recent graduate of John Paul II Collegiate (JPII), has committed to Lethbridge College for the fall of 2020. He will join the Lethbridge Kodiaks’ volleyball program.

Revet said he’s looking forward to joining the Kodiaks, as they stood out in a special way from his visit to the school earlier this year.

“I think the biggest part was the team aspect there,” Revet said. “I am so team-driven; something that motivates me so much are the people I see around the court. If I can see them as brothers, that just elevates my playing level. It was the team; the family aspect that really stood out. I worked out with them once and immediately I was accepted and they treated me like one of their own and that blew me away.”

That team-oriented philosophy was evident throughout Revet’s high school sporting career that included four years on the Crusader’s basketball team, in addition to his time spent on the volleyball court.

Shelly Fransoo was one of Revet’s coaches his senior year with the Crusaders’ volleyball team. She said what truly sets him apart is his love of the game and unique ability to boost the morale of the entire team through his infectious passion.

“Adam just brings an energy to the court like I’ve never seen, and just wants the five athletes that are out there with him on the court to get fired up because he is that way,” Fransoo said. “He even brings the bench into the game without even trying, and he is definitely one of the reasons why were are silver medalists for 4A boys volleyball in Saskatchewan.”

Revet joins a Kodiaks team that finished atop the ACAC Men’s Vollleyball standings with a league-high 40 points during the 2019-20 season.
