An 18-year-old male from Lashburn was found deceased after a multi-day search by community members and multiple emergency services.

Maidstone RCMP were dispatched the evening of July 4 to a report of a missing tuber floating down the Battle River South of Waseca. The missing Lashburn male was separated from friends when a storm rolled in.

Several agencies assisted the local RCMP detachment, including Lloydminster Search and Rescue, Maidstone Fire, as well as RCMP officers from Cut Knife, Turtleford, F Division RCMP Search and Rescue, Under Water Recovery, Air Support and Midwest Victim Services.

Hundreds of local residents participated in the search, while also providing canoes, kayaks, horses, quads, boats, side-by-sides and a plane. Two days and one evening later, the body of the missing male was found.
