North Stars deal Loon-Stewardson to Prince George of BCHL
He may have only spent a couple of seasons in the Battlefords, but it didn’t take long for Quintin Loon-Stewardson to become a fan favourite with his dazzling puck handling, laser shot, and unmatched tenacity.
Thursday, the North Stars announced they have traded Loon-Stewardson to the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for future considerations.
A product of Sioux Lookout, Ont., Loon-Stewardson scored a team-high 30 goals last season, along with a career-best 55 points in 53 games to finish third in team scoring.
On top of the offensive numbers, the forward’s willingness to mix it up with the opposition saw Loon-Stewardson become one of only two players in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League last season (along with his brother, Elijah Loon-Stewardson) to finish the year with 50-plus points (53) and 130-plus penalty minutes (168).
